The AFEMA 2025 Annual Awards Program
The AFEMA Awards Program recognizes outstanding individual contributions to the Air Force Emergency Management program outside of the existing Air Force Civil Engineer functional award program.
Deadline is July 20, 2026. Email nominations to the Awards Committee: AFEMA@3E9X1.org
Award nominations will be boarded and winners will be announced by September 2026.
General and specific award criteria as well as the nomination form are provided below.

Award Criteria
Nominees must be a current member, in good standing, of the Air Force Emergency Management Association.
NOTE: A list of current members will be posted on the Air Force Emergency Management Association Facebook page, but you can request a member’s status via email to AFEMA@3E9X1.org
Dependent on the award category, active, guard, reserve, DAF Civilian, or contractor are eligible but must be actively involved in the Air Force Emergency Management Program during the period of the award.
Nominees must be in a position and rank consistent with the award category of nomination for the majority (>50%) of the award period.
Nominations must be submitted using AF Form 1206.
Individuals can only be nominated for one category for each award period.
The performance period for the AFEMA annual awards is 1 July 2025 through 30 June 2026.
Nomination Process
Nominations must be submitted on the AF Form 1206 using single-spaced statements.
Only the capitalized subject heading will be included on the heading lines.
Performance statements are standalone sentences and include the action, at least one of the following: impact or results/outcome, plain language, and avoid using uncommon acronyms and abbreviations. A separate page may be used for acronyms if needed.

Nomination packages are endorsed by the Unit Commander (or Equivalent) with an MFR or by cc’ing the commander and chain-of-command when submitting the nomination.
Common acronyms do not need to be spelled out, but an acronym list can be added for uncommon acronyms for clarity and understanding.
Save and title AFEMA nomination form with:
award title_last name_first_initial

NOTE: For contractor nominees
The contract program manager may submit in lieu of the commander but must receive acknowledgement from the commander of the contract supported unit of the intent to submit.
Award Board Membership
AFEMA Award Program boards will consist of an award chair (President and/or Vice President of AFEMA), with a panel of AFEMA members selected by the award chair.
A 3E9X1 SNCO and DAF Civilian (GS-12 or above) will be on the board, both as advisors and voting members. All award board members must be AFEMA members in good standing at the time of nomination.
